The Odyssey was started by a few friends and myself my senior year of college to provide relevant content to the most connected and influential community on campus, the Greek community. Just a bunch of college kids, within two years we grew to 35 locations at some of the largest universities across the U.S. becoming one of the fastest growing college media companies in the U.S.
This isn’t an internship; it’s leading the business at your campus from the executive level. Overseeing operations, sales, marketing, revenue targets, logistics, overall strategy and content production, it’s fun but it’s extremely hard. Successful people do it because they want to run a company now and want the experience to teach them the skills.
Philosophically, we believe the only thing necessary for success is tackling big dreams and the commitment to see them through! It doesn’t matter what age you are, how much experience you have, or your background. That’s why we give this opportunity to others, because we believe college students can build and operate six-figure businesses, because we did it, too.
Ultimately we do this because we love it, building and running college media is exciting, especially in the Greek community that is always on the cusp of trends and information. When you are passionate about an endeavor there is no difference between work and life! Traveling, problem solving, socializing, learning, working - are all just life!
